In 70 years Ethel Weiss has gone through three husbands, seen 10 of her grandchildren being born, and has sat in the same chair in her self-owned Brookline Toy and Candy Shoppe. A pretentious 94 year old, her self-endorsement is justified as most of her colleagues are lucky to be able to sit up without the aid of nurses. Her store is a place of childhood dreams, or at least I dreamed of such a place. Every candy imaginable, slinky's, yoyo's-- some of them even still covered in dust.
In 70 years, I hope to also have accomplished so much as I am justified for such self-righteousness.
