A monumental night for America. Barack Obama was elected president. And I spent the evening with the republican party of boston in a downtown bar as they recounted tallies and losses. As a typical american college student i am more often than not exposed to liberal points of view, and had only met a handful of people who voted for McCain. But watching him actually win in a room full of people who refused to accept that it was happening, for it was the end of the world to them brought me a new perspective and respect for differences in opinions. Even if the other side is a bit scary.
